Quite some posts in this wiki complain about the poor performance of rsync with our box. The problem is not the speed of disk or nic, it is the cpu that does not come up with encryption for the ssh, which is used by rsync as security layer. I read about suggestions to configure rsync to use rsh instead of ssh, but it seems to me the solution was either too trivial to be described here, or not pursued for other reasons. Well, the hardest part was indeed to find rsh at all!
